The Imperial Warehouses were originally constructed in 1875 as a fruit and vegetable warehouse, but more recently have been home to Crash Studios, the origin of so much of Liverpool’s music.
After practising as musicians in the studios ourselves for many years, we were honoured to be approached to help redesign the scheme.
The scheme will comprise 32 serviced apartments and a restaurant, all of which will be designed to complement the history of the warehouse and the building’s musical heritage over the past 30 years.
Our client’s brief required the creation of accommodation that is unique, desirable and future proofed against an increase in competition. It also asked that opportunities to upcycle items and elements within the building were maximised to increase the sustainability of the project.
Currently, the scheme is in preparation stages to begin construction.
